3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing Workshop
Offered by Physitech Group
A one-day hands-on introduction to the complete design-to-print workflow: model preparation, slicing, printer setup, printing and troubleshooting.
3D printing is an additive manufacturing process in which an object is created layer by layer from a digital design. This workshop takes participants through the full workflow: model preparation, file export, slicing, printer setup, material selection, printing, post-processing and troubleshooting.
It is delivered as instructor-led theory, live demonstration and hands-on group activities, and shows how 3D printing is used in engineering, product development, prototyping, healthcare, architecture, education and entrepreneurship.
What participants learn
- Understand the principles, advantages and limitations of additive manufacturing
- Identify the major parts of an FDM 3D printer and explain their functions
- Prepare a basic digital model and convert it into a printable file
- Use slicing parameters such as layer height, infill, supports, walls and print speed
- Perform basic printer setup, calibration, material loading and safe operation
- Recognize common print defects and apply basic troubleshooting
- Explore project, career and entrepreneurship opportunities in 3D printing
